Well i did it, I popped the question! My fiancé and I are thinking about a Nor Cal honeymoon getaway. Does anyone have any must sees, resort ideas with a rustic feel, or a nice cabin rental in the area. Looking from the Coast to lake Tahoe in june. Thanks!

First off congratulations. Marrying my wife was the best thing I have ever done!
As for a June trip to NorCal, you will want to stay out of the valley. It gets really hot! Anywhere in Tahoe will be fantastic. Weather up there in June is really nice

First off Congratulations. Second may I recommend taking a scenic tour up the coast though the redwoods and then maybe stopping at a bed and breakfast in the Napa Valley in wine country. Some really great places to stay there. Clear Lake is another nice stop. Also look up around Shasta as an option. On HWY 50 east of Sacramento, Placerville and Pollack Pines you start getting into the wireless free zone. Union Reservoir is another nice place not sure if there are any cabins available. Loon Lake and Skypark lake are nice areas as well. Skypark in near Pollack Pines. Lake Tahoe is another nice area but to me not as romantic as some other areas. Then again you can do the Rubicon as a honeymoon.

Again congrats.

Congrats! Its a little south, but Big Sur is definitely worth a stop. Ventana Inn is a great area (never stayed there, but my friends cabin is down the road, and the views are amazing)

Congrats !!

Go right into Yosemite national park. Stay at the Evergreen lodge! 5 star Resturaunt, awesome bar. Incredible views and easy drive to see the park. To bad you won't have your jeep! The wheeling there is great! It's an outdoor site to see

Sweet thanks everyone. Looks like a July wedding so I'll keep you posted on any other updates as to where we will be going! Always up for more advice!

http://hearstcastle.org/Depends on what you are in too, and your available time, but one place worth seeing on the California Coast is the Hearst Castle. You could fly in SFO, and make a nice multi day road trip. There are many small B&Bs in California and you could see the Wine Country, and Tahoe, and lots of sights in between.

Just depends on how much driving you want to do, there is lots to see.

If you want more Outdoors type stuff, then there is Yosemite, and Death Valley.

Honeymoon

Congratulations...
If you are flying in to the area (Northern CA), check out Silver Car rentals from SFO. They rent Audi A4s for the same or less than most car companies. I rented from Silver Car in Dallas and loved it.

If you're coming to the area in July you can go north into Sonoma County and Napa County and do some wine tasting. There are a lot of Bed and Breakfast or hotels around. The coast is beautiful also. Sea Ranch, Mendocino and Jenner are great places to go.
