New Member, But First Show Ever was SEMA 2016...

Hey everyone, I'm new to the WAYALIFE (just joined tonight actually), but I wanted to share my story about the rig I just had built and placed in the xxxxxxx Booth for SEMA 2016. I had never attended a single car or truck show as a participant, only a spectator prior to SEMA 2016...it's actually a funny story. So my son belongs to a truck club in San Antonio, TX called xxxxxxxxx and the President of that truck club is a custom builder at xxxxxxxxxx. He had placed a few of his own vehicles and others at SEMA in the past, but I had never met him prior to July of this year. Anyway, the Project Manager of my build xxxxxxxx out of California, called the owner of xxxxxxxxxxx the first week of August and said he was in a dilemma...he had a JKU all lined up for the xxxxxxxxxxx booth at SEMA, but the guy backed out for some unknown reason so xxxxxxxxxxxx needed someone with a current model Jeep that was in good condition and wanted to take it to the next level. So the owner of xxxxxxxxx contacted my son because he knew I had a Jeep and asked if I was interested. So my initial thought when he reached out to me was that my wife would have nothing to do with it, but shockingly, she agreed to doing the build. The rest is history as it took two months to build out my Jeep along with two Dodge dually's and a GMC Denali. It came down to the wire as we were literally putting the doors back on the Jeep as the transport pulled up to the shop to deliver the Jeep to the Las Vegas Convention Center. Fortunately, we have friends that live in St. George, UT that we actually stayed with for the first couple days, then we took their RV and parked it at Circus Circus to be within walking distance of the Convention Center...for those of you that have never been to SEMA, we walked 24,753 steps on the first day of the show (that's like 11 miles). We were there for 2 of the 4 days and didn't even see half of the vehicles or booths on display. I've posted a couple photos here, but there are some more photos in my SEMA 2016 album...let me know what you think. Obviously 24's on 38's would not be my choice for a daily driver, but hey SEMA is all about everything being "Over the Top"...I look forward to talking to y'all in the near future...Enjoy! 2016-11-05 15.48.36.jpg IMG_20161104_082628.jpg

Welcome to WAL! Interesting build on your jeep. So, are you gonna wheel it now, or make it a full-time show-rig?

Since I was sponsored for the build, I'm committed to doing shows until next years SEMA Show, but I intend to wheel it thereafter since it's a fully capable rig once I pull the 24" rims off it and drop down to a 17" or 18" wrapped in 38's.

I think if you're sponsored by xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, then you'd qualify as a vendor. You may want to go back and read the forum rules here as you can't advertise for them without signing up as a paying supporter. You can still post and be a member, just don't mention which company you represent. Thanks for understanding.
