My kid bought a JEEP....kind of.

My co-worker was selling a pretty used JKR. My daughter (13 year old) has been around JEEPS since she was born, so naturally i had to ask her if she wanted her first car, to be a car she had some sweat equity in. She loved the idea, so I pulled the trigger and brought it home yesterday.

JEEP details
  • 2008 JK Rubicon
  • Auto
  • shittybuilt front and rear bumpers and a WARN winch (which is going to replace my JLUR shitty built winch :) )
  • factory pretty much everything else.
  • the bumpers are rusted but salvageable,
  • shifts good
  • 312k miles
  • 1700$

the bad news
  • is the head gasket is going out, i believe anyways. i haven't tested it yet. no smoke out of the tailpipe, but it is losing coolant pretty quickly.
  • steering has no power, no noises, just no power.
  • and the suspension is shot.
So im trying to find a 3.8L engine, used is preferred. (I'm on a budget). If anyone has one laying around they want to sell near Louisville KY please let me know.

I feel like it was a great deal, and hopefully will give me an excuse to spend more time with her that isnt revolving around school, friend, and volleyball. Thanks for the link, Ill check it out here after work.
