Well I had the pleasure of spending April 12th-20th in Moab, UT for the Easter Jeep Safari. My wife and I drove the 930 miles in our 2013 JKUR on 40" Mud Grapplers with two kids and a Trektop NX!
I have to say it wasn't that bad and we did quite well on time and fuel economy. We made the trip in about 14hrs and averaged 14.2 mpg (keep in mind I said 40's!) ...
Once we got there we took off the doors and top and it was great. We had runs planned almost every day and only missed Cliffhanger due to a random break of an upper control arm bracket that we got fixed Thursday. I want to say a special thanks to Mel, Lisa, Mel's dad and Off Road Evolution for helping us get it welded back on and set for the rest of the trip and the drive home.
List of Runs:
Saturday/Sunday - Drive and get settled
Monday - Hells Revenge
Tuesday - Pritchett Canyon
Wednesday - Behind the Rocks
Thursday - Cliffhanger
Friday - Metal Masher
Saturday - Golden Spike with Where Eagles Dare
Sunday - Drive Home!
Here are some pictures of some of the obstacles in no special order:
