A 10 second delay on the iPhone pic gave me just enough time to run over for this pic carefully, and not die. Definitely worth the trip for the view (epic)

'This was supposed to be a pic of our new dynatrac 60's getting twisted, but unfortunately they were still in the process of construction when we left for Utah...so for now our trusty D44's getting it done!

We'll be around all week if anybody else is around and wants to join us.
I think we're going to try poison spider mesa to golden spike and then onto gold bar rim. We've done poison spider, but never connected to the other two. Should make for a long, but epic day. IMG_1119.jpg

A little update for everyone. Skyline drive view on golden spike is epic. Definitely worth the intimidating climb and decent.
We're at mile 3.6 of golden spike (lookout) eating lunch with a view straight down of the 191 and potash lower, looking towards Moab.

So we managed to do poison spider mesa to golden spike to bold bar rim today.
Let me tell you guys that this is our third trip to Moab and this long definitely pushed us harder than we've ever been pushed. Definitely learned a ton today (both of us) golden spike is 7 miles of relentless obstacles. I would definitely not attempt this without any less than 37's and locked up front and rear. I'm definitely in need of the evo weld on sliders. The factory rubicon sliders scared us once. I know their limitations or thought I did. Took a hard shot just after the golden crack that actually pinged up through the door and I thought for sure that there was body damage, but it held up...IMG_1059.jpg
The golden crack is awesome, but definitely puts your steering in one hell of a bind until the driver side crests the climb. We didn't attempt the double whammy. We actually thought the obstacle before was the whammy and we were super stoked to make that one, so when the real one showed up I decided to not even look at it. Glad I did cause that's the end of golden spike and I thought we were home free on gold bar rim until we ran into the waterfall. This would have possibly turned us around in the past, but being we were 17 miles in and many hours in we gave it a try. Sorry no pics [emoji25] wife was to busy spotting. All I have to say is wheel base, wheel base, wheels base. We managed to crawl up a couple large boulders on the side to where I could just get the front tires up this 6 foot vertical face and continued to bump it up over the the top. Stoked as a group of broncos came up behind us. We proceeded to watch the first one use to much throttle and nearly flopped on his side before trying our route. I guess this used to be just a small two foot ledge. After that it was all down hill easy stuff all the way past gooney bird rock and down to the highway. IMG_1357.jpg

Actually performs amazing. We've been here twice in the past with 35's and there's absolutely no way we could have done the run today with those. I'm just super cautious and worried about my axles, having upgraded only some steering and gusseted the C's.

They managed to back it out and down after about thirty minutes, with a top winch and a lower winch. He never even made it to the hard part of this optional obstacle that you can literally drive right past. Why nobody in his group said, hey I think that's a bad idea is beyond me. Must be a full size thing 🤤 determined to stuff their full size rigs in places they shouldn't.

You can go just about anywhere in Moab with 35s. We did Poison Spider, Golden Spike, and Gold Bar Rim in March with one JK on 37s, one JK on 35s, my JKUR on 35s, and an XJ on 33s. The XJ's steering took some abuse, and there are definitely some hairy obstacles, but with good spotting and patient drivers, you can do way more than you think possible. We also did Hell's Revenge (everyone did Hell's Gate, and I did Mickey's Hot Tub), Elephant Hill (challenging but fun), Beef Basin (super easy - but 26 miles of beautiful views), and Cliff Hanger (not for the faint of heart) while we were out there this year.
