Matt's procrastination build, AKA Lazy

RMC2

Caught the Bug
Ok, time to join the build forum. I don't know what will slow my build down more: Procrastination, Lazy, Slow, or Cheap. It is a toss up. I prefer to build what I can, but that doesn't cover everything. Especially with tools in two states.

Ok, I thought I knew how to add photos.

On the 600 mile drive home from Tucson to Albuquerque. Near where Geronimo was first captured and held. First mod: 275/70/17 BFG AT tires.

The last jeep, my first JKUR.

I built the windshield light mounts. Those are some very cheap lights on there for the trade in.

When I go home for xmas, I will add a photo of my 85 CJ7. It is in storage.

I put my Warn 9.5xp on as soon as I got home. I then put the tire carrier rear bumper on a few days later.

Nice pics and good work. Any better pics of the tire carrier?

Sent from my SM-N900W8 using WAYALIFE mobile app

I meant to take some new pictures today but was busy and it is dark now. It is the Mopar bumper and tire carrier. I plan to link it to the tailgate, but haven't got that far. It works pretty good, just not perfect. Supposed to carry up to a 37 I think. The bumpers came on the first jeep.

This is the tire carrier I built for the old jeep. Not my best work, but solid and only cost me a little time. I would not put a big time on it, because there is a not a lot of support on the sheet metal. It did not flex, but might still work the tailgate sheet metal over time. I just needed a temporary solution. image.jpg

finally getting something done. Installing my back up camera. Should have it done today after I have a CT scan this morning.

Camera is done. I think I would have liked the gino 1/4 inch camera better, but the one I got was bad. I think it is just a toss up on if you get a good one or not. Ended up using an esky camera as a replacement. This one needs to be angled down more, but I forgot to pick up a step drill today and wanted to finish it.

You see a little of the tire.

Apparently the picture is upside down. Sorry

I also polyfilled the subwoofer and sound bar speakers.

No pictures, but that may be a good thing at this point.

I got started on the redo of the hard top hoist to fit the current house. I have a light fixture I have to work around. I had a couple of iterations in the house in Albuquerque. This garage is only 17 deep and 18' wide. Pretty tiny. The hoist slides on rails to move it. The last version slid side to side. This on is going to have to go front to back. Partially because of the light, partially because of the short garage. The final version when I retire will likely do both with a second layer of rails.

Initial layout. More to follow.
