Caught the Bug
Hi y'all! Just wanted to start a build thread for the new Jeep. This one is going to be my daily driver, so it is going to be a mild but fun build.

The base is a 2006 LJ. The Jeep had over 190,000 miles on it and was in rough shape, so it underwent a full body off frame restoration, w/ new paint, new bodywork, new drivetrain and powertrain, full undercoating and frame painting, rust proofing, as well as an all new interior.

The donor engine is a 5.3L Vortec out of a Silverado, with a 4L60E Transmission. The motor swap is currently underway at Bruiser Conversions. They also instlalled a 2.5" Teraflex budget boost with shocks and coils, as well as a set of 33x12.5 Goodyear Duratracs.

The Jeep should be completed around Christmas and I will be picking her up and driving her home! I can't wait. There will be some more goodies in the future.

Also sold the hardtop and roof rack. Ordered a brand new Bestop Supertop NX for it and it should be here this week. Also had to order a factory license plate bracket since when the roof rack was put on the factory one was taken off.

If it is in any way believable, I have put almost 2,000 trouble free miles on the thing lol. I did have to go to a Rusty's 3 arm setup on the front due to the passenger side upper control arm being wayy too close to the A/C compressor. If I hit any sort of a bump they would make contact...

Kind of odd that the company that built it didn't notice that :mad:... But anyway, shes good now.

Other thing is... the Jeep was supposed to be done in DECEMBER OF LAST YEAR... but it was finally done in AUGUST OF THIS YEAR :furious3::tantrum:

Y'know, you seem like a really nice guy but honestly at this point you gotta be one of the biggest gluttons for punishment I've ever seen.

I ordered the thing long before I even started the infamous thread on here. lol. I really should have known better but after getting this beating I am done with them.

And thanks for the compliments. I guess I'm nice sometimes but most of the time I'm an asshole. And I'm in the market for a bridge if you know anyone selling one...

Hey, at least you stuck around. :thumb: Many would have gone elsewhere and made us out to be bad guys for having a different point of view. :yup:

I try not to be a little baby. This is the real world and sometimes you need the words of others to lead you off a bad path... Which is good. That's why I stuck around and didn't bitch out like all the others in the infirmary.
