Looking for a good trail SoCal

I'll be in between San Diego and Oceanside next weekend. I'm looking for a decent trail to take someone kinda new on. Something that also easier to navigate since I've never been.

How built up is your Jeep? How difficult of a trail are you wanting to do and how much time do you have to spend on the trail?

If you have a full day or two, I'd head out to the southern part of Anza Borrego Desert State Park via highway 8. Plenty of opportunity for wheeling and exploring at various skill levels. Most of the trails there are pretty easy but scenic. You'll want to stop at a Ranger Station or get a good guidebook to keep you on the right track, as there are literally hundreds of miles of roads to explore out there-- I find this book to be extremely helpful for navigating the park: http://www.amazon.com/Anza-Borrego-Desert-Region-Adjacent-Colorado/dp/0899974007

Great camping out there too!

I have a full DTD and not worried about my capabilities. The guy I'm going with is kind of new and just got a 4in lift and 35s. So looking for something that has maybe some smaller rock obstacles and bypasses if needed.

I will look into that and see if we have the time.

Head up to Palomar Mountain / Warner Springs. Check out Los Coyotes. It's on the res, they chg a 10 spot to access. It offers both trails and challanges. I have a map if you're interested. PM me if so.....
