After lifting my 2 DR 09 Jeep Rubicon (manual transmission, 4.10 gearing, 35" tires) with a DV8 Rock Runner 3.5" (purportedly stock driveline compatible) a grind/rattle upon acceleration in any gear became apparent. The noise occurs for about 5-10 minutes until the Jeep is warmed up and then completely disipates.
It seems as though it is coming from the rear driveshaft area (all DSs are stock) though I am not sure how to fully confirm. I made this video in an attempt to capture the issue:
https://youtu.be/LWbLQz2UnOM
I did find a very small amount of grease leaked from the front DS transfer case boot. Furthermore, I made these videos demonstrating the driveshaft's condition:
Rear - https://youtu.be/YJciC4iIoWY
Front - https://youtu.be/DDsZpijQjAc
My question - I understand both driveshafts ultimately need replaced. I'd like to start with the one making the noise. My hope is that installing a double cardan driveshaft will resolve the immediate issue. I need help determining exactly which one needs replaced and if my expectations are within reason.
