KMC vs XD Wheels

I’m looking to get some KMC Machete Crawl wheels, but I’ve noticed there are a few different ones out there with big price differences.

KM229: $480 per wheel
XD229: $340 per wheel

I think the XD229 are discontinued, but just curious if there is a difference. Both have same specs (backspacing, etc).

Anyone know why there’s such a huge price difference?

Tough to answer but I think just a name change. KMC just calls them Machete Crawl now. Look to be the same wheel. Price difference due to cost of metals these days. I bought mine at the same time my XD Machetes jumped up to that $480ish. I bought them through Offroad Evolution they were still doing the buy 4 and 5th for free. $2000 I think.

As mentioned, I think the price difference is just a result of higher prices.
