July 4th - Denver area - Fireworks run

Ok, did some research on this and it's hard to tell what would be the best option. Hoping some of you have first had knowledge. Idea would be to hit a trail Monday, July 4th evening, get to the top around 9pm, watch the fireworks of all the Denver-area towns from 11,000' and then do a night run back down in the dark.

July 4th is a Monday, but I checked and it looks like most towns are doing their fireworks shows then.

Thoughts? Anybody know of a good trail that will get us up high but keep us close enough to Denver/Boulder to have a view of the cities and suburbs?

The only one I can think of that is close enough in is up by Gross Reservoir West of Boulder. But I'm not sure if you can see the cities from there.

Kingston Peak is high enough to see the city, but it would be pretty far away, not likely to see any fireworks from there I would guess. Pickle Gulch has a small outlook spot but I think it is facing slightly southeast and the city might not be visible from there either. Im up for a night run, but dont know of any better spots.

I considered Kingston Peak as well but had similar concerns. Could always just go up Lookout Mountain but then you deal with drunk college kids.

If you're up for a hike, Green Mountain would be a really awesome spot to hang out. Lookout Mtn is probably going to be very crowded. Heck, it gets crowded up there when a storm rolls through, people like to go watch lightning. Red Rocks has amazing views, but Green Mtn blocks the north half of the city.

Took this last week.

There are awesome ones in Idaho springs but I'm not sure if there is a good spot or trail to see them
