What's the scoop on the 4 cylinder? Better alternative than the V6?

Hopefully I’m wrong. I think it will be another not well received engine much like the 2.5 in the TJ days.

Right? I never drove a 4.0 until I picked up an XJ for my boy. That motor reminds me of an old tractor engine.

That said, if they would've given us an extra gear or to, the 3.8 is pretty bulletproof too.
