I just installed a set of Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T in size 295/70/17 on Method bead grip 703 wheels. the tires are listed at 72 pounds and the wheel at 28 will I need to upgrade my tire carrier? Thanks

Nope, just make sure you buy tailgate bump stop extensions so that the tire is firmly isolated against it. That will keep the tire from rattling around which is the cause of tailgate spot welds popping.
