JK_Jimmy Build Thread

Figured I would start a build thread since I finally started some mods...Bought a 2011 JK back in July 2014 and immediately fell in love with the jeep lifestyle. I have slowly been collecting parts and reading different threads trying to learn as much as I can.

So I've had the jeep since July but yesterday I finally threw on some new shoes...Procomp series 97's with the Nitto trail grapps 35x12.5r17...ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1423234268.823161.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1423234290.633961.jpg

Theres a decent amount of rubbing on the wings of the front bumper so the plan is to cut the front bumper and make it a stubby...

cozdude will be assisting with this...should solve the rubbing issue until I install the lift that is sitting in my garage (teraflex 2.5)...all I'm missing is shocks which I plan on buying after my trip to RC with cozdude...looking at the rancho rs9000's and think I'm gonna go with that...

Finally cut the front bumper today with cozdude...ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1423438247.574262.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1423438260.115849.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1423438271.095842.jpg

Got the rear done about an hour ago before lunch. Now to get working on the front.

Took us a total of about 8 working hours but we got it all done. 2.5" teraflex coil lift with bilstein 5100 shocks. It's a bad pic but Jims jeep sits just a little higher than mine does. I'm sure he will post more pics of how it sits tomorrow.

I told him to but he thinks he is going to do the 101 class they offer first. He hasn't really been off-road before so he wants to get the basics down

Definitely a good idea. Wish I'd done that first myself. My friend took it and she learned so much.

It Really is a great class. I have done it once myself and been on it two other times as well (stepdads class and ex girlfriends private class). It's really worth the money. I would even suggest going back and doing it even now or jumping right to the 201 class

Looks good! My girlfriend has that 2.5 lift and it performs really well for an inexpensive lift.

And you guys are much more dedicated than I am, with that amount of snow I would have been waiting. I hate working on stuff while its wet and dripping on me

Its looking good man you got a great start. How you like that wild boar top?

It's a pretty solid top. I know a lot of ppl don't like the fastback look on the 2 doors but I like it a lot. Gives it a more aggressive look for sure. I will say that I am jealous of the freedom tops ability to remove those two front panels though.
