Vector off road makes some bolt in things called UFOs.

The UFO's are for the hood. However I found these instead.

Basic plastic inserts. I think I can actually pick them up at a local automotive store.

I've seen where they've put them in the tailgate. I suppose anything to keep out the elements would suffice.

I used the flat flexible plug and some black gasket sealant adhesive. My jeep is black so it works perfect. It is really flat and you can hardly notice it. Good luck. I wish Jeep would of made a special plug for those holes.

Quite a few of the license plate delete kits come with that plug. Poison Spyder, Vector Offroad to name a couple.
