I have the jeep now for over a year and still have not installed the ham radio.
after searching the internet for a suitable mounting location i can not say that i found something i liked.
so out came the pencil, thinking cap, paper, square and angle finder and after a few evenings of brainstorming i came up with a plan.
some criteria:
a few thin angle irons would not do it. this thing has to look tough
all latches for the hard and soft top still had to be easily accessible
so here are some pics of the rough metal work all done.tomorrow is grinding down my gorilla welds (they are ugly but strong) :icon_crazy: and drilling all the holes to fit the radio. then some primer and paint and then its on to the next challenge to fit the antennae.
i am sure a CB Radio can also be fitted this way.
