I guess its time to document the build. I didnt do much of that with an old XJ, and now I dont have any pictures or information written down.

The start:

And feeling flexy:

The plan I had:

Lifty lift
big tires
moar awesome
???
Profit!

The new plan

"Stage 1": Offroad and Trip worthy
Green = done
teal = have but not on/installed
red = need

Lift: Settled on a Ranch 2" Sport lift with 9000XL shocks
Fenders: Trim factory fenders
Wheels/Tires: 315/70/17 tires, ended up with Duratrac's on XD Addict wheels
Protection: Evo Protek skid system
C Gussets: Probably Evo, but not sure where to get these done locally. 4 Wheel Parts wanted about $500 for this.
Lights: Trucklight headlights
Bumper: Waiting on an Evo Pro with stinger, have a RC Hybrid Stubby to hold the winch
Winch: Warn PowerPlant 9500, Synthetic rope *installed, working properly*
Sliders: *LOD ordered and on the way, thanks Northridge!*
Interior: Trek Armor seat covers
Interior: MonstaLiner interior metal *not completed*
Interior: Tuffy security cubby
Interior: Tuffy Security Drawer *Not ordered*
Recovery kit: Snatch block, recovery strap (x2), Tree saver, D-ring/Clevis shackle (x4), gloves
CB Radio: undecided
Radio: undecided

The above is being worked on now, in order to get ready for our trip in May.

Future plans include 37s, to include axle upgrade (probably a PR44), 3-4" of lift, and regearing.
Will need a tire carrier at this point as well.

Maybe a 12v fridge, but that will come with time and need.

Very nice. Btw your screen name "The Suck" lol! :cheesy:

I think you are the first person to get the joke. Ive been using that screen name for better than 15 years, and had to explain it several times.

Everyone be like "Why are you "the suck, or the sucker?"

Cut the pinch seams, and trying on the 315/70/17's. I couldnt leave them on as my factory wheels have wheel locks that wont fit these wheels. Going to have to order some new lug nuts.

Also got my LOD sliders through Brown Santa today. Its going to be a good weekend...

As we sit right now:

C Gussets: Evo C-Gussets, going to be done at a local shop

Hope to get to the Fenders this weekend, and have a local shop that will be doing my C-Gussets in the next week or two, but the daily drive just threw a check engine light, so I will probably be busy with that on Friday, instead of taking the Jeep to the shop.

Also threw on a shorter antenna, and with the lift have to check the headlights again. No flashes from other cars, FTW.

Scheduled to get the C gussets welded in on Friday.

This has become my daily driver for a week due to a CEL on the Mini and my friend at the dealer being out of town right now, so here is a shot of what it looks like leaving work.

Measuring for the FlashCal, from ground to middle of the hub, somewhere between 33 and 33 1/2 actual size, so pretty close to a "35" from any other maker. I guess a bit small for a metric 315/70/17, but definitely an upgrade from a "33".

Ok thanks for the help. I'm probably buying a set for my TJ, I've heard a lot of good things about the Duratracs.

Happy to help!

Got the Evo Gussets welded on Friday at a local shop:

The shop took about 4 hours to do this, as the welder knew I wanted to keep the ball joints, so he took his time and let things cool when getting them in. Then they painted them for me. Little bit of welding splatter, but no issues, and I am glad to have those done.

Thanks guys!

Grill is just plasti-dipped, so cheap to try out, and easy to remove if needed.

Just make sure you get enough coats so its easy to pull off later.
