Looking for a new Tie rod. I have gone threw 3 OEM's in the last 12 months. :bleh: I know I know. But I got them for cheap so no biggie.

I have looked at 3 posible that I like. However I would like your guys opnions on them. What you would pick if you were buying.

1. Rock Krawler- Good price, need to buy ends, hard to adjust, and may need a new damper bracket.

2. Synergy- Good price, ends look easy to replace, also seems easy to adjust, But I know nothing about them

3. Currie- Expensive as , great product. ends may not be as easy to find replacments for.

4. What else is there out their? :standing wave:

Let me know if you have any expericance with, or what you think of them.

I've run both the RK and Currie and have seen the rest. Hands down, you get what you pay for with the Currie. It's what I would get until someone comes out with something better.

RK is also Aluminum, flexes rather than bends. Also, it is not difficult to adjust. Drop a TRE, adjust TRE, reinstall TRE. I have not had to readjust mine since I originally installed it over a year ago.

I dunno. I liked my RK tie-rod well enough but, setting it for the first time IS a pain. Sure, once it's on, you won't need to adjust it again but, you hit it enough times and the jam nuts WILL come loose and that will lead to the TRE thread jacking up the threads inside the tie-rod. The setup works but it is my opinion that the Currie tie-rod is a MUCH better solution.

If and when I replace mine....ill be going synergy! The price is right, on vehicle adjustment, and I have read nothing but good things about it!

Edit: the only thing i will add is that their business is growing tremendously fast. Its good as a sign of quality, but i have also been hearing of some customer support issues as of lately. Not sure if it's a real issue, fluke mistakes, or growing pains as they are getting a bit big for their britches?!

:cheesy: More like if and when you get another Jeep and if and when you ever wheel it, you won't have to rely on what you read

Just messin with ya :D

Why replace it with the same factory tre's?

are you asking why I replaced it with the factory tre? If you are, that is becuse the local 4 wheel parts in Vegas sells the ones they take off for 25.00 each.
I only bend them when I go out. :(

I was trying to get buy untill I bought my 60's, But since I snagged a set of dana 44's I'm investing some $$ into them to use so I can take the money saved up for 60's and invest into suspesion. :brows:

I think he was referring to the TRE that you install on the RK tie-rod. Granted, they are the bigger drag link TRE but, they are still factory TRE's.

Yea. we talked about this in pm's, and I realy apriciate your advice as always. Just hard to choke down the 3 times the price of one of the others. :boohoo:

Oh, I hear ya and it's the reason why I don't have one on my 2012 yet. But, if you're gonna do it, you might as well just do it once and with the Currie, it will be. The RK is nice as well especially for the cost and, as mentioned, once you get it set, you won't need to adjust it again. Just keep an eye on the jam nuts and you should be good to go with it. The Synergy tie-rod is okay too but, I have seen them fail at the welds of the adjuster clamp. Of course, the Currie's come with super big joints and can be adjusted just like the factory tie-rod.

would you say the currie is the same strength as the RK?

Way stronger. As mentioned, the TRE's that you use on the RK are the same ones that are used for the factory drag link.

BTW, here is a side by side cutaway comparison of a factory TRE and a Currie TRE...

sold. :icon_crazy: Going to have to beg for forgivness from the wife. Pray for me.

LOL!! FWIW, the Currie TRE's are not only beefy as hell with NO plastic components, they are rebuildable so you won't be needing to replace them in the future.

That's what happened to my RK tie rod. I had to have the jam nut welded on to one side to keep it rigid. This held until I replaced it with a Currie.

<hangs head in shame> i know right!:Disappointed: I love all my traveling, but it takes a toll on my soal. I need a Jeep back in my life, and 6 months without one is almost criminal in my opinion! My lady friend laughs that i have about 7k in parts for a vehicle i dont even own right now lol

Yep, I've already blown out the factory drag link. It went before the smaller tie rods.
