My 2008 JK had the engine fail from a spun bearing due to improper assembly by Chrysler, a known issue that occurred in the 2007 - 2008 engines (links below for reference to the issue). Now I'm faced with having to replace the engine, and thought I would offer it up to anyone looking to do a HEMI swap at a reduced cost.
I am the original owner, and have had my baby since December 2008. It's black, automatic trans, with the original Freedom Top hardtop and power window/lock doors. There are only 48,000 miles on it, and numerous upgrades that an off road owner would appreciate:
- 4 inch Pro Comp suspension lift: http://goo.gl/mJ7EDL
- AEV front control arm brackets: http://goo.gl/tc5r2J
- Teraflex front lower control arms: http://goo.gl/9F9DWp
- Teraflex front upper controls arms: http://goo.gl/yv693l
- Teraflex drag link and trackbar kit: https://goo.gl/2MWTQn
- TeraFlex CRD60 rear axle with Detroit Locker: http://goo.gl/qND0EV
- Superior 5.13 front differential ring and pinion: http://goo.gl/rgDox2
- Rancho steering stabilizer: http://goo.gl/x0byx4
- Rancho tire carrier rear bumper: http://goo.gl/QavcKT
- Hi-Lift 60" jack: http://goo.gl/rRkDft
- Rugged Ridge modular front bumper w/ bull bar: http://goo.gl/ElD234
- Quadratec Q9500is winch with synthetic line: http://goo.gl/JWvTJE
- Rugged Ridge quick release mirrors: http://goo.gl/M7Isfw
- Pro comp 7005 black 17" wheels: http://goo.gl/CX9YE3
- Goodyear MTR Kevlar 35" tires: http://goo.gl/qDvb3E
- Warrior tube doors (in addition to factory power-window doors): http://goo.gl/c01Qns
- CB radio antennae tailgate mount
The interior has a replacement Sony audio deck with built-in bluetooth capability, and all of the interior carpet is removed. The entire interior of the tub was professionally treated with truck bed-liner material, making it easy to hose out with the drain plugs and clean after playing in sand or mud with the roof and doors off.
It has seen a lot of exciting use off road in the Sierras of central Cal, Oceano dunes near Pismo Beach, Death Valley excursions, and a couple of Moab trips. As a result of the use in it's intended environment, there's naturally some cosmetic damage:
- minor paint scratches abound
- rear passenger side fender is gone (buddy stepped on it)
- right tail lamp assembly is dented
I'll post some pictures in a follow-up post. Please contact me if you're interested and I'm sure we can find a reasonable price! I'm located in the SF bay area, so looking for a buyer in central California ideally. Thanks!
