For crying out loud, WASH YOUR JEEP!

Someone help me understand the "it's a jeep, it's supposed to be dirty" mentality. I just think that you should take care of your equipment. I've been told that "I'm not a real Jeeper" because I keep it clean. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1458158281.955303.jpg

Lol if I had a beater o would prob not wash it but I try to wash knuckles as much as possible because he is my daily and I want him to last as long as possible.

LOL - sounds like something guys that drive their mud covered Jeeps/Trucks/whatever around for days so everyone can see they are "offroaders".
No problem getting dirty, just gotta clean up when you're done!

Love to keep mine clean. Gives me a chance to put time in on it when I'm not taking it out or installing mods.

Agreed. A clean Jeep is a happy Jeep. Also keeps the garage and driveway clean......even have my son in the cleaning groove with his big ass truck and dirt bike! :thumb:

It's my job Saturday or Sunday night at the car wash to wash off any sand as it has a high salt content here. Can't do a wash at home as the supplied water is for drinking only and there is a fine for using it for car washing. So Thursday it is a wipe down and wax ready for Friday ( our weekend ) and desert trips.

I don't mud.... Rocks aren't typically dirty. My jeep isn't always clean but I prefer it that way. Working on it is much easier, and it shows you people you care for your stuff.

I always clean mine off after a run. Plus, the sooner you cleaner, the easier crap falls off it rather than just sitting there on the paint and parts.

Yeah I don't always wash my jeep after a run but I should. Its not good to leave mud on your paint or important parts on your jeep. Jeeps all clean now so I'm doing good aha ..

Agreed with all this. I spray mine down after driving on any non-pavement. Then do a thorough scrubbing every month or two.

It's just science. Do you see parts stores storing things in mud so they last longer?

Get the cool mud pics out on the trail. At home, keep it clean.

I am not a real Jeeper .. i spend to much money on it to leave it dirty all the time.. I must not be a real man either because i take showers too. =)

Love Slavens response lol. My answer is it is your f'ing car, do what you want with it. I avoid mud like the plague but some people like it. I just had to deal with cleaning the jeep after helping some guys stuck with their truck last weekend and teh jeep became filthy. I spent a couple hours opn the pressure washer (I shoudl have done right away but could not).

Mud is the evil!! :D

I'm usually a clean freak about my autos. I've had to put that aside lately as things thaw and the snow melts. I can't stand this part of winter. Roads are covered in salt and sand then mixed into a nice slurry by rain and melting snow. It could be 50 degrees and sunny but the jeep is covered in filth the minute you pull out the driveway! I'm thinking I need to buy a power washer.

You are not in the wrong. Nothing wrong with having a sense of pride and ownership for your Jeep. Plus, I think all of us here at WAL love our rigs and are probably all a little OCD about them. I know I am the worst!

I wash mine weekly and I am incredibly OCD about my fenders.

I wash my jeep weekly. And try to clean it up immediately after wheeling. Inside and out! Paid to much money to not take care of it... idiots

I think we all love our Jeeps and the sport, but heck no way I would wash my Jeep on a weekly basis (California draught also sucks) and the Jeep is a toy and utilitarian. If you are going to use teh jeep to its extent, t will get dirt. I have nothing against a clean rig, but side by side I prefer to see a Jeep that gets used and has some wear to show it than a Handicorn type Jeep.

On the other side, it is interesting (but at the same time kind of sad) that the majority of new Jeep owners will never even use their Jeep offroad (or use their 4x4 shiter ever), aside from mall runs and daily driving. Nothing worng with that. i like the fact that we will be able to buy a used Rubicon from a soccer mom that has never been abused in teh future :) It is almost like buying a Ferrari or Vette that has never been driven over 70 MPH, kind of a waste, but it takes all kinds of strokes for different folks :)

All that said, I can not wait to take my Jeep that is immaculate now to the trail and get her dirty :)

I have Red Clay Mud below my house. Only certain times in the Summer is it completely dry so I usually have some on the Jeep. I do pressure wash it at least once a week and if I am going to be on pavement for a while or take a trip. My Wife keeps the inside spotless. Mats....dash....floor......she cleans it all several times a week. I like it that way too.

I typically have a car wash party once a week to wash all three vehicles. Now what they look like when they leave and what they look like when they come home...

I try to give mine at least a decent wash every week or two. Every other month it gets immaculately detailed
