First welding project - Ski Rack Build

Added a MIG welder to the tool collection and just finished building ski rack for the back of the JK. Used a Rhino Rack with a custom frame to attach to my Expedition One Rear Bumper Tire Carrier. Holds two pairs of skis horizontally so it doesn't add any height and can still get into parking garages. Skis are 195cm and do not extend out past the side view mirrors. Rack frame attaches to the old Hi-Lift jack mount so I relocated the jack a little lower on the tire carrier. Real happy how it turned out and JK is now ready for winter. Think SNOW!
Plan to build a cooler carrier for that spot to use in summer

That's awesome! Came out great. One of these days I'm going to invest in a mig and learn how to weld. Invaluable skill!

Bought a Chicago Electric (Harbor Freight) Mig, 170amp 220volt for $170 plus a Argon/CO2 bottle for $250 from local supply store, $100 of misc (helmet & welding table), and took two classes for $100. So, spent a little over $600 and happy with how it came out and quality of my welds especially since last time I welded was stick welding over 20 years ago. Just need more experience and then I'll tackle some suspension upgrades. Would consider a higher quality MIG (like a Miller) someday if I get into it but for the stuff I'm doing the HF is a great start.
