Firefighter and Law Enforcement Wayalifers! The Official Public safety Wayalife thread

Many of us share the Jeeping Wayalife, but what a lot of us don't know is that a lot of us share the Firefighting/EMS/Law Enforcement Wayalife as well!

For most of us in this line of work, this is also a wayalife, and one that means quite a bit to us.

So I'm creating this thread for any and all things Firefighting, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Medical Services. Pictures, apparatus, stations, to share stories, ask questions, or just to talk the talk!

All are welcome!

I'm trying to figure out why trouser trout keeps making all of the gay comments. I'm even more confused about why he posted a pic with his friends from last Halloween. To each his own.

That's awesome. I'm trying to convince some of the guys from our house that we could use an USAR class. We have some great schools around us that teach them.

There is so much incident command that you all have to do for firefighting, I'm sure there is some redundancy for USAR. Heck, even the Mantracking classes are useful for so many in EMS (tracking wandering patient/victim, scene awareness, ambush, etc.). We had a few SWAT members do the Mantracking and they learned a LOT they could use.

I've not done any structure/trench type courses, but even assume some of those may be useful for urban searches.

I did take an "awareness to edible fungi" course. DO NOT eat mushrooms with red heads and white dots! They are bad! LOL :icon_crazy:

Yes there is quite a bit of IC, but for me, I'm just a FF. I'm not an officer or anything, and ours do a great job of implementing IC.

We are one of the "lucky" departments that get to do Fire & EMS. ;)

Been a volunteer/paid staffing firefighter for 11 years, started when I was 18. Got my EMT a few years after that. I work as a Fire Marshal and ride up as our FD Fire Marshal when he is OOS. TCFP certs in Inspection, Investigation and suppression. Currently finishing up the Blue Card Command class, for those that know about it. I absolutely love preventing fires (keeping my brothers and sisters safe primary reason for being a FM) but I also love fighting it. Soon will be going back to a police academy to get my pops cert again so I can be an Arson Investigator. I can't see doing anything else. A few pics.

15. I have a long time to go. I'd have to go to work to get some photos. I usually hide from the camera, because I get tired of buying ice cream. Nice meeting everyone.
