Feeling inadequate.

33's and stock. Full flex. Ugh. Can't wait for the enforcer and 37's.

It doesn't look like your sway bar is disco'd... Take them off and you should get a lot more flex! I know I got more than that when I was stock!

Nice jeep man. Dont feel inadequate, we all start somewhere!

Lookin good to me! As mentioned, disconnect your front sway bar and try it again :thumb:

Newbie question. Someone explain how disconnecting the sway gives more flex, and do u need to get the quick discos to do that?

You don't need quick disconnects all you have to do is remove the bolts on the lower sway bar link from the axle to get more flex

I wanted to. But I don't have quick discos. And this was 30 min before work :s was fun though. Those 33s with all that back spacing barely tucked under the rear :p

Sway bar add support to the suspension by preventing excessive uneven travel of the axle by putting a twisting bind on the sway bar when connected once disconnected the axle will travel freely up and down and allows the suspension to fully droop or compress unevenly unlike with the sway bar will try to keep the axle to cram as parallel as possible

Just a little info for you you may want to do a fender cut for the front end especially with 33" tires I have 265/75r16 and it would rub at full stuff with sway bar disconnected but that was with 4" backspacing it got even worse when I put 1.5 wheel spacers on it to get a wider stance

My ion rims have 4.25? Backspacing wrapped in 285/75/16 Toyo A/T's I don't want to cut yet. Cause with the enforcer 4" I haven't decided if I want to reinforce my d-30 and try for 37's. Or stick to 35"s. With 35's I've heard that leaving the stock flares is fine for full flex and makes it look better ( no big lift small tire look. ) with 37's. I would.of course trim. But again. Haven't decided. And haven't braved opening a 37's on a Dana 30 thread to get opinions yet.

@ssh6314
I know what you mean I'm looking at 37" for my future with a build up of my d30 but I cut my fenders to because I'm looking at only running a 2.5 RK long arm to get a low and wide look for better LCG

Ah Yes! The glorious 37"s on a 30 discussion... that is always a good time!

I know tell me about it still kinda on the fence about actually staying with a d30 or not kinda want a 44/60 hybrid but don't know yet but I guess I just got to start thinking if I want it a certain way better do it right the first time!!!

I plan on EVO gussets and .44 mag sleeves regardless. I'm not sure how else to reinforce the d30. But would love to find out. I know no matter what I do. It's still a Dana 30. But realisticly. My jeep is a daily driver 5 days of the week. And a trail jeep on the weekends. And there isn't much like what Eddie and crew do up Here in Washington. So I think I could run the 37's with care. Opinions welcome.

@ssh6314
Yeah I know what you mean down here in south Texas there isn't much crawling spot and my jeep is my DD also and the closest off road park is about 4 hours away!!!

You can run 37s with 4" lift and no fender trim without rubbing at full flex. My buddy has a 4" teraflex long arm kit with 37" MTRKs and don't rub at full flex. I also run trails with people running 3" of lift with trimmed flairs and 37s and they don't rub at full flex either. 2 of them are running the D30 up front with sleeve and gussets and 4.10 gears with the new 285HP 3.6L. They haven't had issues with bending the axle yet, but do plan to upgrade in the future. Also the Rubi guys feel no need to re gear with 37s as the new engine offers plenty of get up with 4.10s Even in the Colorado mountains! I did lots of research with this as I plan on 37s later.

Just thought you would like a little info!

I have the 3.8 but will be running 4.88s. I also "plan" to do a pr 44/60 to go with my 44 stock rear a year after the lift goes in.

I run 37" km2s (OK so they r 36.5" but they r lite) on my 30 with 5.13s. Yes I know it is gonna go at so point, but 500$ to sleeve and gusset was/is cheaper than a pr44. I would actually be more willing to find a 44 off a rubi that someone is upgrading out of. I don't wheel that hard and it is my DD. I will eventually have a 44 of some sort, just hope to stretch it out a bit.

so it can be done, you just have to GO SLOW, pick your lines and know your limitations. You must also understand that EVERYTHING breaks.
That being said...... who has a front 44 they are not using? :D

This is true! Everything can break. You see guys running 5:13s in a D30 for quite some time before breaks. You also see guys with the same gears in a dynatrac 60 that break. "EVERYTHING" is capable of breaks.

Same goes for drive shafts. You see people wheel with stock shafts for 30+k miles with 3.5"+ of lift and wheel all the time without it breaking. And you hear guys with a 3" of lift that break it in 1k miles.
