faded roll cage padding

so I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and how they resolved it. my roll cage padding is fading from black to a light greyish purple. has anyone dyed their padding or used fabric paint on it to get it back? i was thinking about using RIT and doing it in my washer.

thoughts / ideas ???

Go old school with some foam and a roll or two of duct tape. :thumb:

Pulled the padding and sprayed it flat texture black. Looks good IMO its a lot easier to clean as well

although if that doesnt work, tube padding and some black duct tape may be in order...

buddy used the fabric paint on his seats and tube padding - that was last summer and it still looks great! he always runs with the top off in this Texas heat so the stuff works pretty good. Fabric on the seats didn't feel any different.
