The little Mrs. and I share Mondays off so we got up early and hit an area called the Holeylands. Being alone we dared not venture into the mud for we woulda been gator bait but we did hit the trails and saw some great wildlife including a bobcat, deer, and some awesome birds of prey.jk3.jpgjk4.jpgjk5.jpgjk7.jpg

We missed the Bobcat shot. Wish we were ready with the camera. It was a good sized cat. We hoped to see a panther also but no such luck. We ran about 30 miles of trails and up the levees. A good day with nature. Having a quite muffler helped a lot to get close to the deer and the cat crossed our path within 60 feet

Awesome pics Ed........been a while since I rode in the Holey Lands.........I did see a Panther just east of US 27 near Weston a couple months ago.....never seen one live before......very rare animal to come across down here........headed to Ocala for Jeeptoberfest this w/e gonna miss you guys wish you could make it...

Location:

Southwestern Palm Beach County, north of Water Conservation Area 3 and on the east side of the Miami Canal.

From Clewiston - Take US 27 south to Palm Beach/Broward County line. From county line, take L-5 levee west approximately 9 mi to first access point, which is on the north side of the levee.

From Ft. Lauderdale - Take I-595 west to I-75 north. Take I-75 north to US 27. Take US 27 north to Palm Beach/Broward County line. From county line, take L-5 levee west approximately 9 mi to first access point, which is on the north side of the levee.

Sorry.....didn't mean to hijack......I was just looking online at the Holey Lands website.......my friends pulled 3 gators out of the area just east of 27 across from there...

Thanks John. Where do you wheel? Any good spots up by you? I'm down in the Margate/Pompano Beach area

Just some dirt road trails pretty much. I just got my 35's installed 2weeks ago with the lift and am having the c gussets done tomorrow at a local shop. Then I'll be ready to do some harder stuff. In the mean time I've pretty much been doing the whole mall crawler thing:icon_crazy:

Woody! Safe travels and post up some pictures so I can see what i'm missing. We have a horse show the wife and her clients have entered. Wish we could head up with you.
John. Watch out for your welder and the gussets. Too much head can warp the tube and no penetration does no good at all. Has he done this work before?
I'm a welder and fab guy by trade. Your close enough if your not feelin it with your guy I can help you out. My shop is in Pompano Beach.

much appreciation Ed. Using a custom truck shop that's been in business 20+ yrs., he was also the only shop I talked to who knew what I was talking about. In fact out in front of his shop was a jeep he had done with the c gussets and it looked like good work, nice bead. Will let everyone know how it goes.:yup:
