Error c1405

I am having intermittent issues with c1405 "transfer case range position sensor circuit high".

Jeep goes into limp mode with strange transmission shifting or none at all - once in the middle of intersection.

I have dealership look at it and "reprogram" under warranty due to an update available. Did not work the first time so took it back a few days later.

Jeep has been fine now for over a year and has now come off warranty of course. But has done it again twice.

I have checked wiring ect and everything seems fine. Now looking at replacement.

Suggestions???

Based on the information, a likely solution for an intermittent C1405 "Transfer Case Range Position Sensor Circuit High" code, especially after a software update, is to replace the Transfer Case Range Position Sensor/Switch itself.
