DIY alignment question.

Good Morning.

I have been doing a bit of work on my front end. Last week I replaced my drag link TRE'S and this week I replaced the joints on my track bar. I was in the process of reinstalling my track bar and centering the front axel before locking down the jam nuts. I pulled measurements yesterday and my axel appears centered. I used the write up for centering axel. But when looking at the wheels it appears the drivers side tire is toed out and passenger tire is fairly straight.

My question Is when doing alignment is there an order of procedures. Meaning should the axel be centered, then toe adjusted, then stearing wheel centered. Amy other input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes that's the order I do. You may need to drive the Jeep a little tho afterwords to make sure the wheel is indeed centered.

I do the steering wheel adjustment last. Also, your track bar centering will have nothing to do with your toe angle. It sounds like your toe is still out a little. Even if your track bar is off by 5 inches favoring one side, your toe angle will not change.

Okay great thanks. Wow quick replay. Thanks.

So I also have a secondary issue.
I have an artec truss, synergy drag link in stock position. My track bar is currently in the lower hole for the track bar bracket which puts my track bar and drag link parallel with minor bump stear. So minor I am thinking it could have been a bad TRE or track bar joint failing. My problem is with the track bar in the lower position it hits my arb cover. I could move the track bar up to the top hole but then it looks like I would have to flip the draglink. Now flipping the drag link wouldn't be a big deal being I have a synergy drag link but I have a RK 2.5 lift and I am concearned about clearance issues with a flip. It's hitting the ARB cover down after the lip of that makes sence. Any help on that would be great as well. Maybe I should put this in a new thread.

You shouldn't flip the DL with that lift. Post a picture of where you're hitting and also post a picture showing your drag link and track bar overall.

I don't understand why you would have "minor bumpsteer" if your track bar and drag link are truly parallel. Also, maybe I read a bit too fast but are you saying that you have factory track bar and it's hitting the cover?

I can understand how the post was confusing. I have a few issues and am trying to get my front end dialed in.

Bumpsteer: What I am calling bumpsteer was when I was accelerating and shit gears my wheel would move to the right an inch or 2. My thoughts were bad TRE or my drag link joints.

I replaced my TRE in my drag link and it seemed to help a little.

I decided to upgrade my joints on my RK draglink. Have not finished yet becouse I now see my drag link is hitting my diff cover. It's not just hitting the lip but in the middle of the cover down a inch or so from the lip. Only hits going over big bumps. The artec truss track link bracket has 2 holes. I currently have it in the lower hole. I could raise it up to the higher hole which would clear my diff cover but then I would most likely have to flip my draglink. Now I have a RK 2.5 and flipping it may not work out with out bigger bump stops.

So I am kinda in a catch 22. I can get some pics up later. Any help or advice would be greAt. Thanks Doug
