So I am going to Moab this spring. I don't have a ton of extra $$. I have a ford 8.8 in the rear with a Detroit locker and an open front Dana 30. I am running 35" tires. The reviews on the trutrac seem good but they don't recommend with 35" tires. Has anyone used them before? They are only like $350. I know they are not a full locker but I'm sure it will help. I would love to go with an arb but I want to get a d44 before I go that route and I don't want to be holding people back in Moab. Any thoughts?
Honestly your rear locker will get you quite a ways. Most of the time when I have issues, is when I'm stepping up something and it lifts one of my rear tires off the ground. Engage rear locker and I almost always climb rt up. I only engage the front when I absolutely have to.
If you plan on ditching the 30 at some point then look into a lunchbox locker such as an aussie. They go full lock when youre on the gas and run about $250
