D44 stuff in D30 Axle

Seems there is enough space in the D30 Housing to upgrade it's component to a D44 whitout changing the axle .... yet :)

Anybody ever done that ? It looks like a smooth way to upgrade the front axle piece by piece over a couple years (to fit my budget lol) and to finaly swap the front axle for an HD...

Sorry to break the news to you but, you cannot fit an 8-1/2" ring gear into a housing made to fit one that's only 7-1/8".
