Constant horn on

So I'm gonna throw this up to maybe confirm some of the research I did. On my 12' 2dr the other day at the store I shut it off and hopped out. As soon as I opened the door the horn started going off like I was holding my hand on it. Lasted about 1 min then stopped. Went to lock it with the key and again did the same thing. Started it back up it stopped but to test a theory I hit the hazards and it went off again. I tried the battery reset for 10 mins with no luck. Pulled the fuses for the horn to make it stop. Everything else seems to be working normal but every time I try to put the fuses back in the horn goes off. I don't have any lights on the dash either.
Based on what I read it's most likely 1 of 2 things. Clockspring or the cruise control switch (that one has me shaking my head but seems as common as the clockspring)
I do plan to just dealership fix this one but wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue and what fixed it?
I also heard jeep started a big extension to the clock spring warranty but does that apply if I'm not the original owner and have no factory warranty?

Yes the extended warranty on it stays with the vehicle even if your not the original owner. It’s usually a special policy program. At least that’s how GM handles it.

If I had to guess it sounds like the clock spring to me

Wish this was over in the "Be Nice" section. LOL Just a stab in the dark what about key fob battery. Isn't there some sort of proximity function in them.

Dying key fob battery would make the horn go off? If that's the case I hadn't read that one yet. Maybe I'll try the other key. The horn goes off immediately when the fuse goes in though not always associated with locking the door

I didn't look it up. i was just spit balling. Lol With the proximity thing and alarm I thought maybe some off chance. Hope you get it figured out.

Oh no no not like the alarm at all. It's like I'm holding down on the horn for 60 seconds straight constant.

my 2010 did that, the connector at the horn was burnt but I think the true cause was the horn harness on the steering wheel had one wire too short and it was grounding out all the time, not sounding the horn but heated it up enough to cause the connector to burn until it went off and wouldn't shut off,

From the day i bought my JK, the horn didn't work well. When I replaced the clock spring was when I noticed the horn harness issue.

Dealer always told me no issue, the horn was supposed to sound that way... it sounded like an old VW horn

Before I pulled the fuses I pulled the horn out completely and the connecters looked good. My cruise control still works so my bet is still the clock spring but Im not sure I want to try and replace it myself. I'll get around to it eventually haha

Seems clock spring is the most popular. But here are a few others. Copy/Paste I don't speak this way.

Is there a relay?
The two main reasons a car horn won't stop honking include a failure in the switch and a failure in the relay.

Just found this one too.
My horn was going off randomly too... It was actually a control module for the panic alarm that was messing up. The dealership replaced it under warranty.

And another
the techician replaced the speed control switch and "reset" the clockspring (whatever that is). It's been about week now and everything seems to be working normally. We'll see.

Or has it gotten wet recently?

I couldn't begin to pretend I know where the relay is or if it has one haha
Didn't get wet at all I just remember grabbing the steering wheel to get out then started going off

Must be a short somewhere in your steering wheel or in wiring. I'd just cut the wire to the horn next to the horn speaker then take it to a jeep mechanic unless you have a warranty, then go to a dealership. I never had good experiences with dealing with dealerships out of warranty.
