Having recently installed coilovers, I was curious about the direction of the slider between the coils. They came from EVO long side down, like this:
But I keep seeing pictures of folks with the long side up, for example:
Currently mine are down:
It seems to me with dual rate springs, that having the long end up would help prevent bulging of the top spring at full compression.
It also seems to me that having the long end up will hit the timing rings much earlier, reducing potential travel distance you can get out of the timing rings, and forcing the lower spring to engage earlier.
Is this going to be one of those toilet paper over vs. under things? Or is there a clear right and wrong answer for this?
Thanks
