Clean Undercarriage?

Is there a product that anybody could recommend to clean the undercarriage? I have about 3 years worth of mud stains under there and can't seem to get anything under there to look black again. I've tried simple green and a pressure washer and it cleans it but the mud stains are still there. Maybe someone has some little trick they use that they would be willing to share? Basically I'm just looking to get my undercarriage somewhat black again, it doesn't need to be showroom ready :thumb:
 
If you live east of the Rocky's where they use salt undercoating might be a good idea.

Buy a few cans of spray can foaming tire cleaner and drench everything. Depending on how bad the build up is, it may take many applications

Actually am in a similar position with a nice build up of dirt, thanks for the tip. You use it to spray engine compartment as well?
 
If you can find a product called Chemtech CT18 over there, I use it all the time with great effect. Just spray a diluted mix of it on with a garden pressure sprayer, let it sit (even overnight), then pressure wash off. Comes up like brand new.

I recommend avoiding ball joints and anything that has a light rubber seal if it has a degreaser in it.
Most have just silicon and lube, but some are a degreaser/cleaner and shine.

For super gunky we used use engine cleaner watered down on older cars with road tar, and applied directly with a spray bottle and rag. got to be careful with that stuff,it will dry out your seals and bearings.
 
To all that responded, I will add that I have basically been doing this little detailer's secret since I bought the JK. I don't do the under carriage every time, however I do spray the wheel wells and exposed frame rails in those areas as well as my sweet ass ProRock 60's (I love those things!) whenever I wash it. The undercarriage gets pressure washed after every big trip and tire foamed a couple of times a year. I DO NOT spray my King shocks and coilovers (also considered sweet ass), I only spray metal, I don't soak electrical harnesses or electrical parts.

Give a try and let me know if it works for you :thumb:

edit; Paychex.308 I would advise you to only use Land O Lakes "salted and sweetened" butter on your rig or a nice virgin olive oil.

NO on the salted butter!!! one must use UN salted butter in ALL cooking applications!!!

If it's effective we're probably not allowed to have it in the states. The name alone would get it banned in California. A quick search yielded all AU results.
