Clayton or Synergy Front Track Bar

That's reassuring. Some say it is to remove any movement which can oval out the holes. I guess there's something to that, but at the same time, torquing it to spec should prevent that I would think unless there's a flaw. There's some people WAY more experienced than I am that mention the ovaling issues with factory bolts, but who knows for sure lol.
I would never pretend to know as much as what "some say" on the internet but I am 100% positive that most of them are simply stupid.

Yes having bolts to proper torque is important. Sometimes you just have to think, so Jeep is going to manufacture millions of Jeeps with bolts that are too small and will oval brackets??? 👍🏼
This ^^^ Proper torque is critical ESPECIALLY with bonded rubber bushings. If the internet experts were really right, you wouldn't need them to tell you about the bolts. It'd be all over the news and with a massive recall to fix it.

haha, funny. I agree it's mostly snake oil for a LOT of "upgrades" like these. Side note, talked to Synergy, they recommend the 9/16th bolts as well to prevent movement even if torqued properly especially with the JK, it's an issue with them as they wear, their one bracket is also 9/16th plus it's easier to get the bolts which is so true, I have to special order metric bolts in my area of these sizes if needed. I come from a huge family of certified mechanics that know these huge companies do cut corners, plus things wear out so not every single known issues with vehicles make the news. This is such a minor issue because it's not about them breaking off, it's about the fitting a little tighter and you can feel the difference. I don't think you need to do it unless you need to though and honestly, if it's that bad that it's ovalling out, replace the whole bracket if you can haha.

If bolt holes are actually wallowing out, it's due to poor maintenance by the owner of the vehicle - PERIOD. I have been doing this Jeep thing for almost 30 years and have NEVER needed to upgrade my bolts to bigger ones. NEVER. Companies like Synergy know that people don't maintain their Jeeps and therefore sell this nonsense because of it and or because they know people are stupid and will buy whatever is being pimped on the internet. But hey, you should always do what you think is best for your Jeep (y)

I'd like to add, if bolt size and fitment in a hole is so important, it's any wonder why torque specs are needed at all.

There is a very specific reason why such a high torque value on a factory track bar or one with clevite/bonded rubber bushings is so critical. People would be doing themselves a favor to learn why before buying into what's being pimped on the internet.
