Hi guys !
here are some pictures of our last week-end trip. After a 2hrs drive from Québec city we were almost in the middle of nowhere ( 47°55'56.27"N , 70°14'30.04"O). Our very good friend Louise own a lodge there and we decided to go for a trail each day. in total we did 159 kms without seeing any asphalt but we succeeded to get to some of the most beautiful sceneries that Quebec's province has to offer : the Charlevoix mountains with its thousand lakes.
speaking of them : as the 2 last weeks were mostly rainy most of those lakes were overflowing ... making the trails ... interesting to say the least :clap2:
enough saying, here are the pictures of those 2 great days :
time to air down :
our recon quad, driven by Louise during the 2 days. she did such a good job for us !
entering day1 trail, destination : Lake Louise, elevation 2572 feet :
Louise making her job with the compass :
we decided to take a shortcut to save 30 kms :
finally back on the trail after a good funtime with the rigs :
some passes are becoming tight :
then we arrived at our first stop for a little break time,
Vladimir posing with his rig :
and Cheetah with your servitor :
and don't forget our ladies :
back on the trail for the destination run :
crossing a little creek :
final section before the top :
and suddenly : WOW !
our 2 rigs enjoying the view :
taking advantage of the "scenic road" :brows:
some rocks looking like old bones :
end of the road ... time to get back to the lodge :
some fun while going down (cheetah was at its max flex here ...):
some more great scenery :
crossing some water ... deeper than i first thought :
back at the lodge, it was time for a great BBQ with Louise parents
while the girls decided to take some well earned rest at the lodge (with some great wine ...) Vladimir and I decided that it was time for a night wash :
2 happy friends :
DAY 2 : this time we were heading to Lake H, most of the distance will have to be done using a powerline trail with some obstacles promising some fun.
back on the "road" :
once again : lakes are everywhere
using the first powerline trail for some kms :
then back in the woods to reach the second powerline :
second powerline, it's getting really tight for our rigs :
as said earlier : most of the lakes were overflowing :
time for some fun with the rigs as the trail became more and more accidented :
and then for some challenge
but what goes down must go up at some time :
finally approaching our destination, Lake H :
and here it is in all its splendor :
life is good ! :
our recon team : Louise and my wife
then it was time to hit back the road to Quebec city :
while there we decided that we had to buy Quebec's best cheese (Migneron of Charlevoix) directly at the farm where it is produced :
and finally, in the far background, Quebec city and the St Lawrence river :
et voila !
I hope you enjoyed those pics as we did taking them  we had a blast all 2 days long and we will surely get back here soon, as there are many many more kms of exploration to do there !!! :yup:
all the best !
