Changing axles advice

Hey people, I have A 2016 jeep wrangler 3.5" lift 37" tires "mall crawler" lol don't go off roading or anything crazy other then just pavement cruising but do I have to change my axles or regear or can I just keep everything stock, I obviously want to maintain my jeep the right way and want to make sure it will last me a long time. So I just need some help and I'll appreciate it, thanks.

Honestly if you don't do any offroading you're probably OK on stock axles however you'd benefit from a regear. There is a guy in my area running 40's on stock axles. I doubt it's seen any dirt other than the dust that it gathers driving around though.

Okay so if we're talking about regearing i have 37" on right now but I'm wanting to go bigger the most I'd go is 40 what gears would you recommend just for street use

I see that you have Sport meaning Dana 30 axle in the front and many guys will agree with me that regear this axle is a waist of money however if there is no off-road use you might do ok. Get some C gussets welded as well
Good luck

I'm still a rookie to be honest still learning my jeep parts but can anyone help explain what c gussets are?

Google Jeep c gussets. They are gussets or reinforcement to to the outer “C’s” of the axle. They are prone to bending and it beefs them up a bit. If you’re going to possibly run 40”s you’ll have a lot of extra weight/leverage to start breaking/bending stuff, these would help your axle out.

OP you are asking a lot of good questions and a lot of the answers to these can be answered in many threads and great stickies on this forum. I love this place just how it is an endless database of knowledge.

C gussets are one of many ways that you can strengthen your axel when you run bigger tires.
