CB Question

I just installed a Cobra 75 with a 3' firefly firestik and the cool tech gate mount. I am around 1.5 on the SWR meter on channels one and forty. I tested my range with my buddies similar set up. I could not hear him after one mile but he could still hear me clearly. What can I do to increase my receiving range? Thanks in advance. Also my coax is not coiled and I think that I'm grounded correctly.

Yup, what he said. If you're friend is receiving you and not the other way around, that means you're antenna is tuned and transmitting further than his CB.
