I got the cobra 75 with with fire stock antenna but idk what wire goes to the battery and what's the ground. Also is this mount grounded?

Te mount is not groused you have to do that. Red should be power and black ground.

Edit: I grounded it to the bolt next to the subwoofer. I can snap a pic in a bit if it will help.

Is that the gate or the body near the gate? The gate is not really a good ground which is why your running a ground wire. You want it to go directly to the tub.

I attached another weatherproof connector.

Knuckles needs cleaned.

To get a good ground you need to scratch off the paint if there is paint on the surface you are mounting to, otherwise it can be spotty at best.

Learned this many years ago when I installed some rear offroad lights. Drilled a self tapping screw through the body figuring the screw would conduct to the fresh cut steel... didnt work that well and had to grind off the paint / rust before I had a good connection.
