Bumper Strength

Does anybody have any experience with bumpers like these or any similar ones? Are they strongly built? I'm looking for a Bumper that gives me quality front end protection and I kind of like this one. I wanted to see if anybody else has ever used one before. IMG_0741.jpg

Yea I've heard about smittybilt problems. I didn't necessarily mean smittybilt. I just meant bumpers like these in general. And what are some of the better brands to get these type of bumpers from.

I built my own and haven't had any issues with it, I run into trees (on accident) all the time. I think the only thing I would look at strength is tube wall thickness and the quality of the welds.

I've only welded a couple times.

Welding tube is fairly easy as long as you line everything up properly, if you want definite strength I would ask around local shops and see if they can assist with help bending and shaping pieces. I used a cheap front tube bumper and used it as a base for what I have. I've only popped a weld once in three years and it was as simple as redoing it when I go home off the trail. Plus it gives you that extra warm feeling of "I built that" everytime you see it.
