Anyone have a reason on why not to get a Bubba rope? Any other snatch rope you would recommend over it? Thanks.

Funny you should ask.. I willingly sacrificed an 11,000 pound ARB by pulling a stuck semi and decided it was time for something a little beefier. I picked up a bubba rope rated at 20k lbs to replace the ARB. I personally haven't heard anything negative about them other than they are a bit pricey. I have a Bubba Rope. I've used it half a dozen times. Works very well. Seems to pop the stuck truck right out. I have only one complaint, they ain't cheap!

Napa has a recovery rope that I believe was named ditch pig or something like that. I think it was a little less than bubba, I haven't purchased one yet

Bubba Rope makes a good snatch strap - there was another thread here discussing the differences. Good tool to have in the recovery arsenal if you do play in the mud, sand, snow...that "pop" seems to snap the stuck rig up and out to get it moving again. I have the Renegade, 20', 19000 lbs.

make sure you use a good tow point and shackles that will withstand the snatch load. I prefer Crosby shackles, from their specifications:

* Maximum Proof Load is 2 times the Working Load Limit (metric tons) and 2.2 times the Working Load Limit (short tons). Minimum Ultimate Strength is 4.5 times
the Working Load Limit for metric tonnes, and 5 times the Working Load Limit for short tons.

Anything recovery related that carries a name known around the 4x4 community is outrageously priced. I get all my recovery stuff from a local rigging shop, quality is top notch - just as good as ARB or bubba etc, and half the price because you don't pay for the name.

I also second the Crosby shackles. Much higher quality than the cheap Chinese smittybilt, etc shackles and almost the same price.

It is bulky. I can't get it back into the stuff sack without getting pissed off and just throwing it on the passenger side front floor. I would put it in the back but Dasty doesn't like lying on it, so on the floor it goes.
