Curious if anyone has used them before for oil analysis? Searched the site and couldn’t find anything.
I’ll preface this with I have 60% hearing loss so I don’t detect that infamous Pentastar Tick. It very well could be there but I don’t notice it.
Anyway, here is my analysis report and I’m looking for feedback on what others have experienced with Blackstone, or any other oil analysis outfit, as far as utilizing the info they provided to change your oil change schedule or any other mods/upgrades you may have applied based on their test results.

I've used blackstone many times. Seems like every sample has 1 or 2 things out of spec.

I would also remove your personal info and re-upload the image.
Doesn’t look very professional, but done. All that info is probably readily available on the webs anyway.🤷‍♂️

Elon Musk already sold it to an extended warranty company.

I assume this is your first analysis. Use it as a baseline to compare future analysis to. When you see the numbers jump, you’ll know something is going on. You don’t need to send in oil samples every oil change. In fact, you can get away with never having another analysis done again. That said, to get your money’s worth, they should be done at regular intervals so you can track trends. If you know what to look for, you should be able to identify when a rocker starts to fail.

What does Blackstone charge? About $50?

maybe this would allow you to hear the tick if there is one, $7 on Amazon, place the end on various places of the valve covers (usually nearest the firewall)

This was my fourth oil change overall. First one at 1,000, and then right around 7,000 thereafter. Jeep Wave did the first three.
I installed a Fumoto drain valve while I was under there as I have BPPV, and use of only one arm, so I try to make being upside down a very short period. Need to research moving that filter housing too, or at least getting it up a little higher.
The analysis is $45, and they send you everything for your next sample collection.

I read about Blackstone here and think it is a wise investment, although I have not used it yet.

It could be helpful at detecting pending doom before it happens.

If there is a problem then you could remediate the issue before it causes serious harm, or sell before a buyer might notice an issue.

It is most likely that there is no problem!

Am I the only one that thinks this is a complete waist of time and money? Engines wear.. So the numbers are off.. what are you gonna do? Rebuild your motor every 50k miles?
Rebuild, probably not, but the Pentastar 3.6L is not without its issues.
This more than likely will be my last vehicle ever, and I would like to be ahead of the game on any major issues that may be lurking. Heads, rockers, cam lobes, etc.
Me personally I feel like $45 is some fairly cheap insurance.🤷‍♂️

It's really beneficial if you suspect contamination from coolant, fuel, etc. And if metal numbers are really high it can indicate an internal issue. I don't do it on my own vehicles but when I worked in automotive it was a nice diagnostic tool every now and then.

Yes. I think you are the only one that thinks it’s a waist of time. I think it is a complete waste of time and money though.
