Bestop trektop nx the good vs the bad...

I'm selling my hard top and looking at the trektop nx by bestop and wanna hear the good and bad with this top. Ready and go!

I really like the trektop nx my only complaint would be that it a pain in the ass to put the sides on when it's chilly out, but that's the problem with the majority of soft tops. Overall it's a great top that I would buy again.

Love mine. Install took ~3 hours. I think there are newer instructions to download from Bestop. Do it on a warm day, like over 65 degrees as the fabric shrinks when cold. Also, get little nylon zipper pulls. They help & aren't included.

Also can anyone compare to the hardtop in the winter or areas/states that get down in the single digits as to its warmth and strength for snow ...

Thank you and I'm considering just using paracord...

Have had mine for several years. No real major issues. The doors leak up near the top a bit when it rains, mostly caused by the old weather stripping on the door. They do fit very tight when cold which isn't a problem. Only real issue im having now is the threading for the plastic inserts that hold the top to the body are starting to dry rot and come apart. Although it's taken it years of sitting in the elements to cause this. (I'll probably just re thread them on once it gets bad enough) I would buy another in a heart beat.

After a year of running the NX I do not regret the purchase, I would have to think about springing for the twill top though to cut down on flap.

My main complaints are noise (has increased) and the sunrider option is not usable at highway speeds. The rear also does alot of flopping when run in a bikini mode (which I do alot).

The quality has been great, no tears or rips in any of the material, windows or seams. I pull the windows any time rain chances are low for extended days so they have been off and on multiple times.

I live north of SLC and have ran the regular trek top nx for a year now. We sold our hard top last summer. We just did a 1300 ish mile road trip and at highway speeds the wind noise does get annoying but we just talked a bit louder or turned the music up a notch or two.

We keep our jeep in the garage at night and basically when it isn't being driven. If I were to go back I would spend the extra money for the newer twill version. In the winter it keeps us warm enough, but again it dosent sit outside collecting snow either.

the directions that came with mine were horrible to say the least, not a single word, just pictures. If BestTop has downloadable ones, I hope they are better.

Do it, I just did the same. This is my third TrekTop NX.

The functionality is reason enough alone to do it!

Is there a reason it's your 3rd...? And can you compare wind noise between it and the hardtop... I've not owned a soft top before...

Napalm nice looking rig btw

Thank you. What I should have said was, This is my 5th Jeep, and my third Trektop NX. I've put them on my past three jeeps, and it's usually one of the first things I do. The quality of this top alone is enough to make it superior to any other brand, but what really goes above and beyond is Bestop's customer service that they provide. They truly stand behind their product and if their is an issue with it, they correct it quickly. The wind noise is to be expected with a soft top, but it's much better than what you would get out of a factory soft top or a supertop because of the low profile of the top. A few more turns of the radio volume and you wont be able to tell the difference. :)

You wont be disappointed.

Before installing my top, I checked YouTube. There are a couple videos from the guys at bestop that walks you through step by step.

That makes more sense.... I was hoping this was the case... And after comparing and researching and now getting more first hand experience from others I'll probably pull the trigger tomorrow... How's the noise level on highway? My bad just seen your comment on the noise...
