Best Tire, Your Opinions

So I am planning on changing out tires and wheels and I was wondering what tires you guys would suggest. I don't do a lot of off roading but I do do some. I want a tire that has an aggressive look and great traction all around. I was looking into like a strong A/T tire. Right now I am really leaning toward the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. I know some of the guys on the forum run these. I have heard mixed reviews on them. Thats I am reaching out to the fellow Jeep owners for some much needed advice. Thanks for your help in advice guys!

I myself am going to go with 33" General Grabber AT2's or the NFG TA KO
Go to tire rack.com they have unbeatable prices
Just MY opinion
Good luck

I just got the toyo open country M/T in 35/12.5r17. Seems to be good so far and haven't heard any complaints about it. Relatively quiet and smooth riding on road and looks great too

They were actually cheaper than the bfg KM/2 I was going to get. I got mine for $1800 for 5, installed. I believe each tire was around $320

I can see that but it depends on where you go, but that's a pretty good price

I'm currently running the Km2 in a 35" not to loud good on rocks but i dont care for them in snow. the goodyear duratracs are good tires. although some people dont like the thin sidewall on them, if you arent looking for a Mt tire maybe even the falken wildpeaks

You should look at the toyo at 2's or the falkens, depending on the terrain you wheel, I run the toyo mt myself, I see a fair bit of mud were I am and found them the best all around tire for my needs.

If you don't push the limits how do you find them??

I'm running the Falken Rocky Mountain ATS in 35x12.50x17. I'm at 5k miles with no complaints at all.

Thanks for the feedback guys I do appreciate it. Right now I am leaning toward the Grabber AT2's. The wheels I want are 18x8.5, those should fit on the grabbers that are 33x12.5R18LT right? What do you guys think? I have a 2.5" lift.

Honestly, I would try to get a wheel that is more of a common size like 17". 18" isn't common and you will find that tires are harder to come by and more times than not, more expensive too.

Having said that, 2.5" is plenty of lift for 33's and you can pretty much run 35's with it. Just make sure that your new wheels have 4.5" of back spacing or less or else you will find that you will need to run 1.5" wheel spacers as well.

Oh, regarding Grabber AT's, I have no experience with them but would definitely recommend the Duratracs or Toyo AT2's. The later has a 65,000 mile warranty.

Thanks for the great info. I think I'll consider the durtracs again now knowing that they have the 65,000 mile warranty! :clap2:

I'm a big fan of the BFG All Terrain TA KO. I have had them on several of my vehicles, and they have performed excellent for me. Quiet on the road, yet good off road traction. Last a long time, look great, haven't had many flats with them either. I don't go rock crawling, but I do a pretty fair amount of off road driving in the desert, light to medium mud, lots of dirt, sand, forest/wooded trails, and they have worked great for me. With that said, Ill be looking for a more aggressive mud terrain when these (and my warranty) wear out and I step up to a D44 front. I'm currently running a 33 on my JK, Ill be stepping up to a 35 (maybe 37).

The toyos hove the 65000 warranty

What he said, the Toyo's have the 65,000 warranty, more than any other tire like it out there. If they came in a size bigger than 35", I probably would be running them.

I've never ran the duratracs and probably won't but I've heard great things about them. And seeing as how you're from Connecticut they handle well in snow, so I've been told.
