Actually, I might recommend more back spacing with 68.5" on a JK. 4"-4.5" will bring the wheels in more. They're just harder to come by.3.5” backspacing would be best if your axles are 68.5” wide to maintain your turning radius.
My methods are 4.5” if that helps the OP. Definitely helps the wear on the bearings snd scrub radius if it clears.Actually, I might recommend more back spacing with 68.5" on a JK. 4"-4.5" will bring the wheels in more. They're just harder to come by.
Did I read on a different thread that you have those Bead grip methods? If so, what's your opinion on them?My methods are 4.5” if that helps the OP. Definitely helps the wear on the bearings snd scrub radius if it clears.
The idea of getting away with not running beadlocks sure is attractive. How low do you go when you air down?I’ve been very happy with them. My only complaint is that they were not made in the USA, but most wheels aren’t anymore
I like those a lot, I hear you about the width though. I still want to get through the gates at Barrett and a few other places.I would second what the other guys said above. I have the Machetes in 3.5 backspace. They work , but I could have definitely gotten away with a little more (4) backspace.

I am running the UD60s that is 69 inch wide on 40x13.5R17 Nittos with the KMC 17x9 with 3.5 back spacing and still rub a little. I had to cut front and rear fenders and extend out my steer stops to stop the 40s from hitting frame.Hello, I'm trying to decide on what wheels to run on my JK. I'll be swapping to some UD60's in the next few weeks so I'm trying to figure out what works well as far as backspace without spacers, etc. Any info and pictures is much appreciated.
Thank you!
My methods are Beadlocks and I run them around 8 PSI on the trail
Right on, I misunderstood, I thought they were the new bead grip wheelsMy methods are Beadlocks and I run them around 8 PSI on the trailView attachment 362589
My UDs are 69 wide and I am sitting around 85-86 inch wide. I will post a measurment when I get home if no one else has.For those guys running 68.5" axles 3.5-4" backspace and 1350 width tires how wide is your rig? I'm guessing in the 84-86" Total width?
Gottcha. I'm tossing around the idea of getting another trailer for my rigs and want a little bit of future proof if I move to 1tons some dayMy UDs are 69 wide and I am sitting around 85-86 inch wide. I will post a measurment when I get home if no one else has.
