The Nameless TJ Crawler

what's up WAL? I live in Durango, Co. and I recently picked up my second TJ for a steal. it came with a 2.5" rough country lift and some pretty awesome 31" Maxxis tires.IMG_1476264078.104009.jpg

I want to build it up to be a Crawler, while keeping the center of gravity low. I will be swapping out axles, getting coilovers, and stretching the wheelbase over time.

first thing i'm going to do to my green heap is upgrade steering, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I have cc fabs diy fenders, only thing I dislike is that the sheet metal is too thin imo. They've taken a few thwacks and are still good though.
 
i'm going with the hood lines (negative flare) so hopefully they are a bit more sturdy. even if i don't like them, they were only $225. that's half the price of comparable fenders

Not sure if you're getting the prebuilt ones or weld yourself, but consider adding a little bit of thicker metal from the tube to inner fender to support the hood latch. Highway wind will cause hood flutter and pulled the sheet metal up on mine, quick support fixed the problem. I'm still happy with mine, wish I would of used a better quality Bedliner though as they're beginning to rust. Can't beat for the price.
 
went ahead and cleaned up the rear end a bit, pulled the mangled rear bumper and layed down a few coats of black paint to bring some life back to the fuel tank skid plate. IMG_1478119164.636918.jpgIMG_1478119245.720856.jpgIMG_1478119310.496796.jpg

I plan on getting a decent rear bumper/ tire carrier combo soon. but this look doesn't bother me too much for now.

i was fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of a hit and run, leaving my passenger front fender in shambles, so off come the fenders until i can get my hands on some hood line armor i've been eyeballing for a while now... perfect excuse to buy now lolIMG_2745.jpg
 
Going to cut off my factory fenders over the next few days when I have time. Today I started with getting some hoodpins and mounting them in pre existing holes on the top of my grill.IMG_0237.jpg (sorry for photo quality
