Army Family in WA

Hello Wayalifers.

If you didn't guess by the title of this thread, I am in the Army. I've been in the military for 12 years (6 in the Navy and 6 in the Army). Currently in the Army and I plan on making it to retirement, maybe even more than the 20. We will see what happens.

I joined Wayalife a few months ago, but due to my schedule and working on the JK I haven't been active.
My wife and I recently traded in our TJ for a more family friendly JKU. It was a Rubicon for Rubicon swap. We have 2 kids and it was hard to get them in the TJ for anything including small excursions and going to the store down the street.

I was skeptical at first, but I have put a lot of work into the jeep and it is almost to a point where we like it. I put a rubicon express 4.5" long arm lift on the new "family wagon," so it spent about a month in the garage as I worked out a few kinks in my tool inventory. We have a lot of poison spyder additions as well as a RIPPMODS supercharger on the way. I don't quite have the coin to do an engine swap, and we need a little more power as we don't want to let the rig sit between outings (I have one that sits between outings as it is a trailer queen). I've got 4.88 gears with the stock rubicon e-lockers.

My other trail toy is a 1987 Toyota Pickup with the 22RE. It has a modified 4 link rear and SAS up front with leaf springs. It has 5.29 gears. I've got a spool in the back and a ratchet style locker up front with 40" ProComp tires.

If the whole family goes out with both rigs, I drive the Toyota and the wife drives the Jeep. The kids (4 yrs and 2 yrs) do not like the toyota, so they ride in Jeep.

Well, I have probably taken up too much of your time. I look forward to the interaction on the forums here.

Welcome to WAL from MICHIGAN. I did 8 years in the USCG (aviation) and regret every day that I didn't make it a career. Young and foolish at the time I guess. I could have retired in 1999!
