Anyone know what this tire carrier is??

Dont know if this is the right place for this thread but anyway I think this tire carrier is awesome! I'd love to run the Evo one but it won't work with my fenders but this one will! (Thought about the genright one too but I think this one looks cleaner) I saw this at the sand and sport show yesterday and I really want it. The guy said it was a poison spyder... Don't think it is but I could be wrong so if anyone knows what this is let me know!

It's the new Poison Spyder Customs one. They are hyping up certain features of it that they will announce later.

From afar it may look kind of similar to other products that are on the market, but when you get a chance to see it up close there are some pretty cool and unique engineered features to it, both at the hinge and latch side. We'll talk more about it soon, but you can check it out in person on the CA4WDC Sweepstakes Jeep, which will be in our booth at the Off-Road Expo.

yea the lack of stinger/hoop on top made me think that it still could have been the genright but modified a little. good to see you got a answer tho. i do like this look.
 
I would love to see what the latch side looks like...since the hinge side looks damn near identical to my genright. Only thing I like about the sitnger hoops is they make a bag that fits perfectly in that spot for it.
 
it is a new Poison Spyder one, they will also have this jeep at the PSC booth/compound at this years Offroad expo in Pomona, posion spyder new #27 larry states this year will be a very big year for PSC at the expo a much larger area then usual with their new 53' trailer it should be a awesome booth, he stated papa smurf(yj) venomous(2012 Jk) daddy long legs(lj) and this CA4wdc give-a-way jeep will be there and others.

What a great response and a lot of questions asked about the JK Spare Tire Carrier we posted a sneak peak of this morning. Many of you wanted to see the latch side, so here's a look at it. Note the body-side of the latch is contoured to fit the curvature of the JK's body or the Crusher Corners. The carrier-side of the latch closes against a pair of CNC machined steel alignment pins to support the load of the tire, while the single latch only has to keep it shut tight to the body-side piece. To answer a few more of the questions that have been asked: It is designed to fit up to a 40" tire. The tire shown in the photos is a 37". We hope to have it in production and available for purchase in about a month, however as with any of our new product releases, that guesstimate isn't written in stone. Yes we are working on Rotopax mounts for it, although they may not be ready when the product launches. Target price is in the ~$850 range, without options such as Rotopax mounts. At this point there are no plans to produce a version of this for the TJ. Any other questions, feel free to post 'em!

Looks nice but as all posion spyder products they are so over priced I doubt this will be any diff


I don't always wheel , but when I do I keep it tight......... Stay dirty my friends.
 
They said it will be about $850. Doesn't sound that bad considering the or fab is 800 as is the AEV. Not sure what the cost is on the gen right, but I know the evo carrier is $1500.

It doesn't look to bad, I want to see how they mount the rotopax. They said they were working in that and they may not be available at first. I may still look at the or fab carrier with the rotopax though.

I got my or-fab with ropax and crinkle finish off of amazon for $600

Nice! I am still leaning that way, I really like their rotopax mount design. Did you get the one specifically designed for the rotopax or the jerry cans?

Ropax. Here is two pics of it. Very solid set up. I'm running 35's on it and 37's at some point down the road when I'm ready

Sweet thx. See the more I see it, the more I like it. Especially knowing you can mount at high lift jack and light on it at the top of the hoop.

I like a lot of PS stuff. Usually the lines are great and flow well with the Jeep. For my eyes, this product just looks weird.
