Probably a bad antenna or simply a AM tuned only antenna. Do you get anything at from FM?

I have the same antenna, I was losing FM signal every day. It broke off one morning when I leaned into it while brushing snow off my Jeep. It was -35 Celsius that morning. I went with satellite radio.

Took the antenna off the wife's 2016 Hard Rock JKUR for the car wash. Never put it back on because we have Sirius.

I took off the stock antenna and cut it down to the length I wanted. I ground down the cut portion by putting it on a grinding wheel and spinning it around. Then, I popped off the ball from the top piece I cut off and glued it on the other cut/ground down piece. Now it looks like the factory but shorter. Haven't noticed a difference in reception and I did this mod shortly after buying it and that has been years.
