ANOTHER WINDSHIELD Bites the Dust - What Number are You On?

Welp, new windshield is in! Hope this one lasts a bit longer than a year. I should also note that I just got the generic aftermarket glass which only cost $290. Had I gone with the Mopar glass, it would have been $620. Oh, and THANK GOD this wasn't a 2024 windshield with the antenna in it or one with adaptive cruise control as that would have been way more

Because god knows you'll need the money for gas. 😉

After 6-1/2 years, my windshield finally cracked. There had been a snow storm the day before and I had the Jeep backed into the garage. I started it and moved forward only a few inches before I heard a cracking sound and was left with a several foot long crack towards the bottom of the windshield out of my field of view. The crack did not get any longer, even after the 1000 miles of our return trip.

It is about time this happened since there were already some strong hits to the glass, and visibility is poor due to hundreds of tiny pits due to driving through sand storms.

Yep, that 2024 cost me $500 with insurance and if I bought without insurance I would have ran me about $1700, which was the aftermarket price. Gorilla glass would have been $2200.
