Aluminum Ant Sculpture

I am not sure if anyone has seen this, but I thought you would find this interesting. Mid March I was tasked with helping my nephew make an ant sculpture by melting 50+ aluminum cans. We started by melting them in a metal container in two big rig brake drums with wood with the help of a leaf blower to add the necessary air.
After reaching the melting point it took quite a while to melt the cans, but eventually we did it and poured the liquid into an ant hill and this is what turned out.

That is really cool! Reminds me of the glass things they made in the movie sweet home Alabama but I'm not sure that was even real. Good job!!
