AC Blowing Hot Air on 2014 JKUR

Had second episode with AC blowing hot air (not ambient but heated air) when control was set to cold and compressor switch was on. Both times problem was cleared by turning ignition all the way off (going to ACC didn't do the trick) and turning it back on. It doesn't seem as though the switch is bad or the door in the dash that directs air to the vents is sticking because it works almost all of the time just fine. It seems it might be a software problem or some kind of weird interaction with ignition switch because both times the AC was already set to on when the vehicle was started. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or know what the problem might be? Thx
 
I had a WJthat did the very same thing. It was a blender door issue. Fortunately it was covered under warranty. My wife kept telling me she was cold when I had the heat on. I told her she was crazy because mine was fine. She wasn't.

When it acts up again, see if your compressor clutch on the front of the compressor is actually spinning. If it is, you likely do have some kind of blend door issue in the dash (or your AC module commanding a heater door when it shouldn't be.

If clutch is not turning, then you need to find out why, being it's intermittent, it's likely not the clutch itself but rather something not sending a signal to it. This can be diagnosed with a DVOM or test light.

So, I checked the compressor signal with a voltmeter. Signal is definitely there, I can hear the compressor engage and the engine RPMs change a bit when the AC is turned on (still blowing hot air). The problem, however, took longer to resolve this time. I did cycle the ignition a few times with no improvement. I finally parked the Jeep and did what I needed to do. About 10 minutes later, I started the vehicle and the AC came back on normally.

As I'm out of warranty, I'll probably go to an auto AC specialist and see if they can figure it out.
 
I had this issue in the past month and replaced my blender door actuator. I had to redo the install because every so often the arm would get stuck on heating and I would have to cycle between hot and cold to get it to get unstuck. It got really annoying as we had a couple weeks of 100+ degree temps. There's a thread here on WAL that addresses the blend door actuator.
 
You haven't noticed any overheating correct? Mine would start blowing warm air when it went through its 3 radiators.

If not, do any of the lights (first two AC control knobs) blink when you start the Jeep?
 
I also have a 2014 and mine was the blended door issue. I watch a YouTube video to fix my issue. Re-connected a pin that came off.

If a wire was off a pin, I presume that your problem wasn't intermittent. Right now, my AC is working normally. Earlier, I couldn't get it to stop blowing hot (heated) air. I'll check YouTube to see if I can diagnose the problem at the controller for the blender door. Thanks
 
i would also lean towards the blend door issue. a cheap diag would be to swap with another one. they are all the same.

Mine was the opposite. I couldn't get heat out of mine. Onces I put the pin back on the sliding arm of the blended door the vents worked as it should. Were you able to find he video? Here is the video that helped me.
